TEACHING

My approach to teaching voice is greatly informed by my own experiences as a young singer. I am fortunate to have worked with teachers and coaches who encouraged me to explore and shape my own musical identity, even as they helped me to build a solid technical foundation. Today’s many musical environments require a successful performer to embrace an increasing degree of stylistic and expressive flexibility. With this in mind I try to foster within each of my students the technical knowledge and artistic instincts to thrive as they interact with what is becoming a true multi-faceted discipline.

The focus will be on freeing and unlocking your individual and unique voice by building and maintaining a solid technical foundation. The fundamental infrastructure of classical technique can be applied to any style of singing (jazz and musical theater, as well as classical and pop), and they will give you the tools and the knowledge that will lead to a lifetime of healthy and successful singing.

In-person lessons are available in the La Jolla Cove area on Mondays and Wednesdays, and in Kensington, San Diego on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Virtual lessons via Zoom are also available.
